Plus the fact that you can't watch Apple TV channels on the iTunes app is ridiculous too. This stuff never happens to me on the new Apple Music and Apple TV apps. Or the other bug where if I started watching a movie or a TV show and then paused it and went to listen to music for awhile and then went back to what I was watching it would resume in SD and I had to close iTunes and reopen it to make it play in HD again. The iTunes app for me also had an annoying audio bug that made it so that if I didn't plug my headphones into my PC before opening the iTunes app and I opened the iTunes app first and then plugged them in then it would have no sound until I closed iTunes and reopened it. The iTunes app is an absolute dumpster fire. I don't even like Windows 11 that much and I got so fed up with how broken the iTunes app is that I updated my PC to Windows 11 just to get the Apple Music and Apple TV apps and they work way better than the iTunes app. It's like Apple just abandoned it altogether. I also check for app updates in the Microsoft store every single day and iTunes never shows up in the apps that have updates and it hasn't since I got my laptop in Summer of 2019. That was before I even had my laptop so that's why iTunes has never gotten any updates for me. I've been using the iTunes app from the Microsoft store since Summer of 2019 and it has never received any updates whatsoever which falls in line with the fact that Apple's website says that the Microsoft store version of iTunes hasn't been updated since March 25th, 2019. I used my old laptop for awhile from 2019-2021 and iTunes never got any updates from the Microsoft store on that laptop and then I got my desktop PC in early 2021 and iTunes has never gotten any updates from the Microsoft store on that either. That's why I've never gotten any updates for it from the Microsoft store. I went on Apple's website and it shows the Microsoft store version and shows that its last update was on March 25th, 2019. The Microsoft store version is my point though. Still have my local music library on an old iMac, I've been telling myself for years I should get them off (I've had like three computers since) before the thing doesn't turn on anymore. I can take a song I like, ask it to build a radio off it, and get non-stop new music most of which I like. To me, the ability of it to just keep playing music matching your mood and interests is unmatched. Spotify almost immediately captured me, and over the years as its recommendation algorithms and library have improved I never really went back. I still had my local files and for a time kept them on my phone, but I stopped updating it, stopped downloading, stopped ripping. I gave Spotify a try when it launched in the US, and literally that was pretty much it. In 2010 when streaming was first becoming a thing, and I took pride in my massive music library, I thought I would never be interested in streaming as I loved my curated library so much.
